hell's kitchen.

No, the picture below is not Gordon Ramsay's famous "Hell's Kitchen"... It's mine. Built in 1951, my house features a pink tiled kitchen with shoddy cabinet work performed by everybody's favorite Joe Dirt look-a-like maintenance man, Jimmy. It's never really been a priority for me to decorate this room, but after giving up on finding an appealing design solution I've finally resorted to just acting like the pink tile doesn't exist. That said, I decided to play up the other colors in the room using a little spray paint and some old frames.

I love my potted Amaryllis Bulb and decided to try and match the color of the pot. I got some spray paint from Home Depot for $3.99 and found some old black frames in my closet to spray. I just did two coats and let the frames dry a few hours in the driveway... So easy and I love that there's really no cleanup! Why haven't I used spray paint before?

I really like the frame on the right and think it's a nice contrast with the other. What do you think? I say a nice little update for less than $5!
