Below is the piece Alex ended up purchasing, a tribute to his old college days in South Carolina and love for Charleston in general. He ended up framing it in a black frame, on a solid black wall. So simple, but really eye-catching.

About Lee:
Artist Yan Lee attained the degree of Ph. D of geophysics at Texas A&M University. It was there that he became enamored with "The Century Tree " on campus that has shaded tens of thousands of Aggies since 1898. Lee vowed to draw it for posterity. This experience was so personally overwhelming that he resolved to search out and immortalize the famous & historic trees in Texas.
Lee's pen & ink portraits of the famous and historic trees are sketched in minute detail with delicate precision. When the portrait is completed, the trees appear living, exquisite, and unique and will remain so for all time.
Yan is living with his wife, Lu, in Spring, Texas.
"I gather these famous and historic trees of America here. They would talk, talk to you. The famous and historic trees symbolize longevity, loyalty, peace, and survival. My mission is to paint/draw as many of these important trees as I can to preserve their image and beauty for all time. When I paint/draw and enjoy theses trees I am revived and I learn patience, perseverance, and organization from them."
